HOM Furniture traces its roots back to 1973 when J.C. Imports was founded as a retail wholesale and import gift business. In 1979, The Waterbed Room was opened and became the largest retailer of floatation sleep products in the upper Midwest. Next in line were two HOM Oak & Leather showrooms that opened in 1990. After other strategic mergers, HOM opened its franchise in 1996 and has since become a complete full-line furniture retailer. HOM is now one of the United States largest furniture retailers in the upper Midwestern states of Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin. HOM Furniture has one of its locations in Lakeville, Minn.
