This bakery is definitely AMAZING! Any cake, any way you want and done with PERFECTION! I recommend it for any occasion!

DO NOT go to Amazing Cakes in Lakeville. They screwed up my wedding cake so bad, and didn't even apologize- had the nerve to tell me it was my fault for ordering it. They weren't even sorry.



My (now) husband and I flew from TX to MA to have our wedding ceremony/reception with my family (508 natives going back several generations- I grew up in Lakeville). We decided to "elope" (sort of) during the wedding planning process- really because of the expense and stress of a big wedding, and did an intimate, Cape/Nautical DIY-esque, pot-luck wedding with my immediate and extended family. Only about 30 people total.



I ordered a plain, small (i chose the second smallest size they had), two layer, round, white cake with almond butter-cream frosting a few days in advance. I specifically asked for no decorations. None. Nothing. Plain. No flowers, not even borders. I really went out of my way to be as clear as possible about this. Just bake it and frost it. I was making the cake topper/decorations myself. I was told it would be no problem, and it would be done the morning of the reception.



Now before you ask why I ordered my cake a few days in advance, instead of the average 6 months or so, let me just clarify that we did not originally plan to have a cake, because we weren't expecting a lot of people. I picked up a few extras here and there to add finishing touches. The timeliness was not the issue.



Absolutely nothing fancy or difficult about this order. They told me it would be no problem, and they had plenty of time to get it done. I made sure to ask them several times if they had enough time to make it, nervous that maybe I had cut it too close.



My dad picked up the cake a few hours before the ceremony, and drove it down to the reception spot, and it's *covered* in red, white, and blue decorations. I was in the middle of getting my hair done when I got the call from my husband while he was trying to figure out what to do. I couldn't leave for the reception spot until I was done. Ended up running over the estimated time so I ran late. Thankfully I already had all the decorations ready and set aside and was ready to go on the cake when I got there.



So I call the bakery...



When I call to ask what exactly happened to the cake, the first girl I spoke with had no idea why it was not done correctly. She took the order, and she swore she had it down correctly. The head baker then got on the phone and RUDELY told me that she refused to make a plain cake with no decorations.



"I couldn't allow a cake to leave MY bakery looking like that". That is a direct quote. O_o



If you refuse to make them, why did you tell me you could, and then have the balls to make something completely different from what I asked, and CHARGE me for it- unapologetic??? Not to mention that it's your JOB to take specific cake orders and make them the way they are ordered.....DO YOUR JOB, or find a new one... My order was not that difficult- in fact, it was MUCH easier than I would assume most cakes are, considering there was to be no decorations. Then you have the nerve to turn around and tell me I shouldn't have ordered it that way? That somehow my wedding cake order was too substandard for you to "allow" to leave your bakery, because you didn't LIKE what I chose?



Whether or not the baker LIKES the cake design is irrelevant. My order is just as important as anyone else's, and I deserve to be treated with respect at an establishment in which I am spending my hard earned money. -_-



Long story, short: worst bakery in the history of the universe. I have never been treated so poorly, or had an order be intentionally incorrectly made ever at any establishment (non-bakeries included) that I have ever ordered from.
