I do not recommend Childrens Village. I withdrew my child in February of 2017 for a number of reasons, mostly due to safety concerns and because they were not consistently providing the required 2 teachers to 20 children ratio. My child's class was going on their 3rd teacher that year. There was high staff turnover, they were short staffed and would pull the teachers aide out to help cover in other classes. The staff that were there were unprofessional (often heard complaining and even arguing in front of children), unfriendly and dishonest ( I was given reasons why the second teacher left that I know was not true). When parents expressed concern over safety issues (large broken tree branches dangling from trees in the playground and broken equipment) we were told that it would be very expensive to fix. My child was tested but I never had a conference with the teacher. My two older children went to VPK there several years ago and I was satisfied with the school then. There was structure in the class but that is not the case now. Now it is run like a daycare and a bad one at that. Your tax dollars pay for VPK and you have the right and responsiblity to do your research and choose a quality VPK. I enrolled my child at a different VPK and we love it. It is so much better than Childrens Village.

My child is in the VPK program here @children's village and has shown tremendous growth. His teachers were recommended and I m grateful for that. All of the staff are great and the center is clean and well organized.

My first child started VPK in this school almost two years ago and he was a bit behind at the beginning but as time passed it seemed everyday he would surprise me with new things he learned. They did a complete turn around with him. I started our youngest here when he turned 1 and he is a little advanced for his age now at 2 and I owe a lot of that to this school and the amazing teachers. My oldest is in kindergarten now but goes to before and after school care at CVEC and he loves it. They take and pick him up from school which is very convenient for my husband and I with our work schedules. Both of my boys love attending this school and all four of us have great relationships with all the staff.

I have been happy with this place for the most part. My child has learned so much since coming here. I would even give the learning experience an A+. It is a very clean environment as well. The only thing that I'm not as happy with is that most of the time when I walk in I have to be the first one to say hello to a teacher or staff and sometimes I don't even get looked at when I am even right in front of someone signing in. It's just a little un-professional to me. Of course not every staff member does this and I have recieved very nice greetings before. I feel like greeting every parent with a smile and a simple hello would be very appropriate. Another thing that bothers me a little is sometimes when I pick up my youngest child i find her walking around the class room with snot just running down her face and no one wipes it off or dried food on her shirt. I know kids will be kids and they are very messy but parents wipe their kids noses and clean them up a little bit when they get messy so I would just expect the daycare to do the same thing. Other than that, CVEC is a very nice place and seem to have a great staff. If this was based on strickly the overall learning experience I would have given them 5 stars.
