My experience with the new group that bought this business has not been a good one. I was asked to come in early through morning traffic at the last minute that morning. After arriving there I sat in the waiting room for a half hour past my original appointment time. That was 1 hour and 40 minutes of wasted time. They could not answer my question, if all billable entities were Medicare Providers. The manager of the surgical center was even called and she could not give me an answer either. Finally a new girl showed up at the desk who confirmed all entities involved were Medicare Providers. I am a retired veteran with 21 years in the service, who pays extra for Tricare for Life coverage and there would be no reason I would be billed directly. I was not happy the way I was treated in the prep area or the recovery area. I was not aware that this was owned by a new group until we arrived. Had I known that ahead of time, all questions would have been asked well in advance.

If you are covered by Blue Cross/Blue Shield, be aware that the surgical offices, equipment and facilities are owned by Alliance Surgical, and you will receive a separate billing from them. Be certain every individual or group who might be involved is cooperating with your insurance group. In my case, the anesthesiologist and surgeon were in the network, while Alliance Surgical, who provided the needed facilities, was out of network. Otherwise, service was good and facilities were impressive.
