one star is too good for this place do NOT go to Knightdale NON Urgent care. waited two hours. one person on desk. doing some physical for some department which took first place over 3 people (including myself) with injuries. one was a child. These people are awful. front desk is POINTLESS. do yourself a favor and go to Emergency room or REX

This was my second visit to this facility. Both times I was seen by my doctor on or prior to my scheduled time. I found the staff to be friendly and efficient. My doctor (Dr. Tammy Boyd) is assuring that I am on a regiment that will improve my medical condition. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Chain of events: Regarding the Duke Knightdale Urgent Care location -

Sunday, 5/20/12

11:30AM: My 22 month old slips and hits his eye area. It is red and it seems to be bothering him; I decide to wait until after his nap to see if it looks/feels better.

2:30: He gets up from his nap and acts like it is really bothering him, I decided to take him to an Urgent Care.

3:30: We arrive at Duke Urgent Care in Knightdale. I notice a woman sitting outside eating lunch with a man (later she turns out to be the receptionist). I arrive at the "receptionists desk", another woman comes up and says the receptionist is the only one that can check us in and she will be back from lunch in a couple of minutes; 40 minutes later the woman that was outside with the man walks in. Did I mention we are the only ones waiting in the lobby the whole time? Is there something wrong with this picture? Can Duke not afford (2) competent people to check patients in while one is at lunch or can the receptionist not have the decency to take 5 minutes from her lunch break to check us in (she saw us walk in)? Is this is a common business practice at Duke?

4:15PM: By this time my 22 month old is tired and irritable. They call us back and the nurse is trying to take his blood pressure. He gets very irritable and the nurse yelling at him does not help either. Also, is it really necessary to take the blood pressure of a 22 month old for an eye injury? So, after the third try of the nurse trying to take his blood pressure, I have had enough and walk out.

Terrible place and I would not recommend unless you want the same experience I had.
