Shingle Creek is headwaters of the Everglades and was recently rated one of the top paddling trails in Florida. We rent single kayaks ($13/hr), 2-person (tandem) kayaks ($16/hr), canoes ($16/hr), and stand-up paddle boards ($18/hr). 2 hour eco-tours are available that include: 1) basic paddling instruction + equipment rental + eco/historical narrative (minimum 4 persons) + water. We also have a 1 hour eco-tour on an 18ft electric Duffy boat that accommodates up to 8 passengers and is piloted by certified captain that is available every weekend and with advance notice during the week ($15/person). The rustic-themed Paddling Center facility was completed last Summer and includes adjacent hiking and biking trails. Picnic tables are onsite making this a great family or group event location with available gas grill rental ($10/hr). Our trained staff is friendly and provides new and novice paddlers the basic paddling skills to enjoy the exceptional natural beauty that is Shingle Creek. Special Programs include 4 Team Building Exercises (1.5 Hrs to 3+ hrs) and Education Program for 3rd Grade and up, with canoe paddling skill building component and 2 other Eco-Florida classes on how birds fly and predator-prey dynamics.
