TruStone Financial is a credit union driven to create exceptional financial experiences. We engage, educate and inspire our members to achieve lifelong financial well-being. It all began with a few teachers and a dream. Back in 1939, eight Minneapolis teachers decided to take control of their own financial security. They formed the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers Credit Union. Over the years the credit union has endured name changes, added field of memberships and expanded across the Midwest. In 2020 a merger with Firefly Credit Union – Minnesota’s first financial cooperative – made us the second-largest credit union in the state. But your goals have always been our priority, and we exist to help you reach them. As a not-for-profit financial institution, we're different from a bank because our members are our owners (people who live, work, worship, attend school, or volunteer in our membership area). Our profits are returned as competitive rates, higher investment returns and fewer fees.

Since trustone took over, Ive had NOTHING but negative experiences with them. Many accounts hacked at once,(mine being one of them) there was a long line at P.D. to clear that up. Now theyre saying they have no record of a loan payment being made, when Ive shown them the receipt! Then the woman who was supposed to handle this first tried blaming us, then walked out of the room! Wont talk to me anymore, neither will her boss, I called headquarters, and the lady that walked out on me is the person I'm supposed to talk to, but she wont speak to me! This has been a NIGHTMARE! Oh,but they're still charging late fees,so there's that.

TruStone, wow! Very disappointed in the customer service - what happened to it? AMCCU was so much more accommodating, fast and most important: accuracy. I waited in the drive thru for close to 20 minutes with one lane open (on my noon hour). Then, I decided that going in, could be quicker. Nope, a line of 5 people with ONE TELLER!!! It's so aggravating, AMCCU was a reputable, long standing institution, with fast lines and convenient establishments. I then, went to use my debt/credit card and come to find out (at the grocery store check out) it wasn't even activated!! All that time (40 minutes) and no service rendered, just terrible! Thanks to Educator's Credit Union - I have accuracy, convenience and even no charge ATM (among MANY other top of the line services: card rewards, low rates, no fee checking, mobile check cashing/, etc)!

AMCCU was so much more convienent, no branch numbers with trustone, on line banking easier, not happy calling 800 number and waiting on line for 35 minutes, thinking of changing to a bank.

Proud to be an AMCCU member

I have been banking here for 5 years now and Ive never had a problem. Fast service, Friendly, and helpful. My only compliant is that they dont offer rewards for customers such as refer a friend bonus, etc.
