Recently brought my perfectly running van into Ashby's for an inspection. The mechanic said it failed because my power steering fluid was "producing droplets." I work on my car and I can tell you there isn't a vehicle out there over 150,000 that won't "produce droplets" of some kind. Failing an inspection for petty fluid leaks does not hold true to the spirit of what an inspection is for. It's to assure that the care is safe to drive for the owner and others. An intensely slow leak (I've monitored it for years and was never a cause for concern) is no reason to fail an inspection. BEWARE. Garages that look for little things like this to garner more service and business for themselves do not have the owner's best interest at heart. I've taken my vehicle to the same place for years and brought it here for convenience sake. Looks like I'm going back to the guys I trust.

No complaints, repeat customer

I hadn't live in KC but less than a year and I need a place to take my car. A friend recommended this place. I don't know enough about cars to be able to know when I'm being taken and when I'm not. So I'm always apprehensive but realistic. I have a 97 Audi and had relatively few problems with it till the last 6 months. I've taken my car to Ashby's a half a dozen times. I had a water pump go out, ignition coils, wheel bearing, etc. Every time I've been there Mark and Hope have been nothing but nice. And they get your car in and out. Only one time was my car there more than a day and it was two days. On one occassion they had to undo my battery to fix something. When they did that it put my radio into a 'safe' mode and it needed a code to reset. I didnt' have the code and they tried getting it and were unsuccessful. They even came and picked up my car from my work while they left their own car parked so they could fix my radio. Well the couldn't get the radio fixed but offered to pay for the radio to get fixed if I took it down to the Audi dealership. To me that says a lot. Most places would be like 'tough sh*t'. The only minor complaint is you have to stay on top of them for updates.

Horrible

Very unprofessional!!! Went in last week had service to my car and left costing $300. The same day I had to have my car towed back. They said sorry theres another problem another $350. Found out they advertise certified techs which is far from the truth. Another car got towed in while I was there. Maybe they have an arrangement with tow companies.

The couple in the office where to busy flirting with each other to care about anything else. Went there the last 2 years and won't go back! The office smelled like a kennel.
