great price great service i called jamie after the desktop hard drive had stopped working. he not only recovered all my data but taught me some tips on how to speed up system and installed antivirus because mine was outdated. very profesional and jamie was fair and honest and i would highly recommend this service.

Unfair and Unprofessional Practice

Data recovery is a very bad business here. This is my first time doing business with Jaime. I called him to find out his estimate of time and cost for my data recovery, he told me it would be around 30 minutes versus its costs. For a 10 GB data, after the service was over, he told me he had spent on it over 6 hours but would charge me 4 times of his estimated price. This was done in his presence without asking me in the first place whether I would still want his service exceeding the estimated costs. When I raised my point, he said I was having an attitude! I find him a game player. I cannot be happy with this transaction and that what he knows about what he can do are seriously in question.

Thank you for trying to sabotage my good name, and the honest service I provide, despite the fact that I gave you the deepest discount I've ever given a customer, relatives included. When this client first contacted me, she indicated that she had a failed external HDD, and that she was afraid that the drive was going to be unrecoverable. During our initial meeting at this her house, I clearly informed her that my hourly charge for this service would be $60/hr, which is (and still currently is) listed on my site www.ahkc.net. She agreed and I went to work recovering her drive. Apparently, she misunderstood me and was under the impression that the whole service, regardless of how much time it took recovering the data would be only $60/hr period. After the initial diagnostics of the client's failed drive, I contacted her to let her know that it was going to take several hours due to an I/O failure of the drive itself. True, it was only 10GB of data, but due to the drives slow transfer rate, recovering the files from the device was very time consuming. I kept in contact with the client throughout the recovery process, indicating the duration of the recovery remaining to avoid this situation from happening altogether. After I successfully extracted all the data and migrated it to an external drive provided by the client, I called her to let her know that I triple checked to make sure her data was recovered, and that I would only be charging her $100 for 6 hours of work as an act of goodwill - this was before I even knew there was any confusion in the first place. I try to be as generous and professional with my customers as possible so we can continue doing business together in the future. This particular one was impossible to please. Instead of accepting the steep discount that I offered, she threatened me indicating she would pay only $60 or "she would not be happy with the service, and if she’s not happy I will not be happy" (i.e. this negative review). I refused to accept anything under $100 for my 6 hour effort - I was already shaving off well over half of the cost of my service - and she said that she was dissatisfied with the price for the recovery. She currently has all of her files recovered, backed up, and triple checked. Not a file missing, for $100 which is far more affordable that what any place online, corporate or otherwise would have charged under the same circumstance. I gave her several phone numbers and URL's to data recovery services in an attempt to show her how reasonably priced my data recovery service is. The kicker of this whole transaction is she later tried to blackmail me into giving her a free pirated copy of Office 2007 – or she would not be happy with the service and this is the end result. I informed her when she propositioned me with this request that I'm not interested in doing business with her further and if I wouldn’t have already had the check I would have just washed my hands of the whole situation altogether and gave her the failed drive back. I realize you can't please everyone. I happened to find someone that was impossible. I tried though, and I still appreciate your business, and still will NOT be distributing a pirated copy of Office for you, bad review be damned. Jaime ahkc.net

REMARKABLE Service!!!

I was having a problem configuring my wireless network at home. I just bought 3 new laptops and could not get them to talk to each other or connect with my wireless printer. I called a couple places trying to find a good deal on a wireless network setup. Among the places I called, the Geek Squad was one of the first. They wanted $149 to network all of my machines and it was going to take a couple days for them to get to my issue. I called After Hours and talked to Jaime who showed up the same day, connected and configured my wireless network within 20 minutes, and charged me only $40 to do it. Same service, better price. I spent the extra money I saved on a 2 wireless keyboard and mice and now I'm wirefree complete except when I need to charge my laptop! Their service (not to mention the price) was just as they claimed, unbeatable!!!!

The BEST REPAIR IN TOWN!

I've tried them all in my quest to save a dollar. My laptop has consitantly given me problems since I bought it directly from Dell. It keep shutting down and overheating. While I've had several people attempt to isolate the problem with it, Jaime was the only one that not only knew what the problem was, but fixed it within 20 minutes. I just wish I would have called him first. The time, trouble and $$ he saved me will be the reason I call him directly next time!
