ALOHA! Welcome to the Big Island of Hawaii. Located in the heart of Parker Ranch, WAIMEA GENERAL STORE, founded in 1970 and family run, is one of Hawaii's truly unique island stores....a favorite of locals and visitors alike. We are in a small town known as both Kamuela and Waimea....approx. 2500 foot elevation ( can be VERY cool at times )....nestled between the Kohala Mountains and Mauna Kea with fantastic views of both Mauna Loa and Hualalai. We are less than a half hour drive from the famous Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Mauna Lani Resort, Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel and The Royal Waikoloan, and approx. 1 hour from both Hilo and Kailua-Kona. If you can make it to the Big Island of Hawaii....the Parker Ranch, WAIMEA GENERAL STORE, and the several other fine shops at Parker Square should definitely be on your list of spots to visit for Hawaii shopping.
