Operational since 1984, Med-South is a provider of home medical equipment and health care services in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. Its range of products includes hospital beds, wheelchairs, scooters, enteral pumps, shower chairs, transfer benches, ventilators, nebulizers, cranes, crutches and ambulatory accessories. The organization also offers sleep disorder testing, biomedical repair and diagnostic imaging services for hospitals and clinics. In addition, Med-South operates a pharmacy and the Rehab Division. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Community Health Systems, which is a nonprofit corporation that operates more than 100 hospitals throughout the United States. Med-South is accredited by The Joint Commission.
