Unlike the other reviews on this business, I haven't had any issues with poor customer service. On numerous occasions I have asked them for alterations to be done the next day, they have done so with no "rush" fee as stated by one of the other reviews. I have also never had an issue with them changing the price.

I know there aren't many options in Jacksonville, but I would definitely try to stay away from this store. Sew-Rite has extremely poor management skills and customer service. I asked the girls working in the front about having my jacket fixed and no one seemed to know the answer.... or who to contact to find out an answer; also- once I walked in to the store and there was a lady screaming about her husband on the phone, and last but not least- they've messed up my ticket on two different occassions and I WAS FORCED TO PAY for THEIR mistake. The job does get done faster than Base, but there are other options.P.S. Beware of their so-called "Rush Fee"..they add this on randomly or to any customer that says, "Can this be done by..."

bad customer service, unknowledgeable staff, unable to give set price and honor that price, obviously won't call if the price goes on the alteration. I have used this place two times- today was the last. I took in 3 shirts and one coat to have patches put on and then three pants to have a basic hem placed in them. The girl behind the counter wrote up the ticket and I paid in full- $46.00. I call the next day at 12:10 to see if they are done, the lady says no and reminds me pick up is at 17:30. So around 16:30 I try again and the girl tells me they are done but there had been a price change because the young girl who wrote the ticket didn't price it right. I am normally reasonable but since I had already ran my card and paid I wasn't willing to give them more money because the girl made a mistake. Like anywhere else what you ring it up as is the final price. I expressed to the girl I wasn't OK with the price increase. She said her manager was gone and there wasn't anything she could do.

I used to work there and we always had customers come to us to fix the mistakes that other seamstresses had made and had overcharged them for. Never once did I see anyone pay more for a service than was reasonable. Perfectionism is something most alterations shops in town are not at all concerned with and are lacking. Sew-rite always does their best and nothing less. If a mistake was made (a very rare occassion) they fixed it at no extra cost. I found the owners to be very pleasant people to work for. If you want a quality job done at an affordable price guaranteed, this is the place to go!
