I do not know what that person below is talking about! I have been ordering a tall salsa to go since they opened back in 2004. It is 2010 and I still order a tall salsa to go. It the best salsa in town! If you did actually eat there, the owner was probably right! He is a great man and he works very hard to have a successful business with quality food in Jacksonville. You probably did put something in the salsa. Don Juan's Mexican Restaurant is my favorite restaurant in town and my children love it!

I have high standards, so I won't give them 5 stars, but the food was good and the atmosphere was nicer than I expected. I went during lunch, but plan on going back for dinner one of these days. The bar caught my attention in a good way. I wish they delivered (especially during lunch).

This is the best mexican restaurant i have found in jacksonville. i have eaten here many times before the comment popped up on here about the caterpillar comment. I know almost the whole staff there and there is no way a whole caterpillar could end up in the salsa. the staff is friendly and helpful if you have any doubts.

Great variety in the menu. From time order placed to arrival of meal was only six minutes. Portion sizes are reasonable and the food is hot, flavorful and fresh.



Their salsa is excellent.

I was very unhappy with the poor service I received at this restaurant. My bill was for $8.55 and that is the amount I signed for on my copy. When my MC statement arrived, the charge was for $13.55. I had a small dispute with the waiter over wanted a dollop of sour cream, as my beef nachos did not come with any. I was told the amount for it was $1.79. Therefore I did not request any. I spoke with the manager on my way out and he was very rude and short with me.

I am warning others to carefully check your bill and your MC statement for fraudulent charges.

My family and I come here all the time. I have never had Mexican food that was this good. The owners are extremely nice and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. I have never found anything dead in my food. And will continue to go there at least once a week sometimes more.

I haven't had Mexican food this good since I lived in Ft. Lauderdale! It was awesome. The service was spectacular and the Mariachi band was a joy. Thanks guys, we had a great meal and entertainment for very little money!

My wife and I go to LaNapolera all the time and tried Don Juans on 5/4/08 and had the best Mexican food experience ever! The food was great, the atmosphere was awesome, the service was on point. At the end of our meal the owner even sent over desert on the house. This has now bumped LaNap from our list and I did not have a caterpillar in my food. As a business owner myself for someone to come on here and tell the world not to frequent a business is very damaging. At least it was not a roach! I have encouraged all my friends and family to give this place a try and hope they have the same good experience that we had.

Great food, reasonable prices! Fun atmosphere

a group of friends and I went the Don Juans last night and it was the most horrible experience ever! When they brought us our salsa there was a DEAD CATERPILLAR IN IT!!!! We told the owner about it and he said that they chop their salsa up in a blender and prepare it fresh. He kept saying that someone must of put it in there... finally after all that was done and he apologized and we left there. Needless to say, I didn't eat for the rest of the night! It was so disgusting! Please don't go there EVER!

Always fresh. Best salsa in town! Quick, friendly service. High quality Mexican food at reasonable prices.
