Now a Seattle coffee institution, Caffe Ladro opened our first location on Upper Queen Anne in 1994. People ask about the company name origin. Caffe Ladro is Italian for coffee thief. When we opened up next to Starbucks, we intended to pinch their customers with the best staff and coffee we could find. From the intimate vibe of that single café and bakery, we grew to fifteen locations in and around Seattle. Each café maintains our superb coffee, signature friendly atmosphere, and freshly baked goods. We offer a range of blends and seasonal micro lot coffees at our cafés and for our wholesale partners. Now a Seattle coffee institution, Caffe Ladro opened our first location on Upper Queen Anne in 1994. I drive a bus through out the Seattle and Bellevue area and I have been to many different coffee shops. When I tried Caffe Ladro in Queen Anne earlier this year I was hooked because the coffee is so smooth and doesn't taste like your drinking acid like other major chain coffee shops. The atmosphere and the coffee in particular is extremely good. The people make it a habit of remembering your name and by the third or fourth visit if you get the same people they most likely will not only remember your name but coffee order even if you dont go there every day. After going to Caffe Ladro I haven't been back to any of the other major chain coffee shops. Caffe Ladro doesn't have a very large food selection ( at least the stores I have been to) But the food they have is fresh and very delicious. With a new route change I was quite disappointed because I knew I would miss my coffee shop but now I have a Caffe Ladro in the Fremont area. Since I live in Issaquah, they have one there too.
