I've been at this gym for about 5 years, seen lots of new employees come and go even established new friends here. I found out they had a meeting over my friends and I training each other, they assume we were trainers(kickboxing only) and getting paid for it so instead of asking us they embarss us in a unprofessional manner putting up signs and staring at us, talking about us to others as well. I went to the front and complained over their assumption, I couldn't deal with it so I canceled my membership with all my friends and family(about 10 of us). I lost all motivation and respect for this gym at woodbridge nj. Ever since new management took over he ACTS like he's a drill sergeant approaching people that are training together ASSUMING that someone in the group is getting paid when they are just working out, friends or family he tells them that they can't personal train but no one in the group is a trainer, basically if i were to take my mother or even my girlfriend and help them he'll tell me I can't and i need to hire a trainer within the facility. This all started with a friend I met at woodbridge retro fitness, he was holding pads (boxing) for his sister-in-law and was told that he can't train his sister-in-law because he doesn't work for retro fitness, my friend replies "im not a trainer and this is my sister-in-law we are just working out together" manager replies back that it doesn't matter so they quit immediately because it was plain ridiculous. Another situation was a customer parallel parked outside the gym to rush in and buy an item and leave, manager approached him and told him he can't park there, customer told him he's only buying a product real quick, manager tells him NO move your car, so he quit as well. There are countless complains over this new manager that I can explain but there are to many and I know soon someone in higher authority would realize how many members are gone from retro fitness woodbridge n.j.



The vibe in retro is bad now many MANY MANY retro memebers who considered the gym as home turn thier back with no hesitation to join a different gym. When I canceled my membership there were four others behind me doing the same. The manager comes out his office and just smiles happy people are leaving.



There are well over 2000 people who quit within a month at retro fitness woodbridge n.j. ever since he took over. I know this because there's another gym 10 mintues away which i just joined called CRUNCH in woodbridge n.j. I asked management there how many people join from retro fitness woodbridge nj he said over 1500 in a month...I have two days working out there and already bump into many familiar facies from retro fitness woodbridge n.j, I asked them just out of curiosity why they all quit and alot of them replied how terrible the manager is. So there for, it came down to how terrible retro fitness's reputation is now, over a man who can't respect the fact that people need to motivate eachother by working out together or care for members in general. If i had a choice later down the line to return to retro it would be when manager is gone and I'm sure alot of others would agree to this.

I love this gym my husband and I have been going for about 5 months now and the people are nice its clean, a lot of equipment. And the trainer are GREAT! I had a free assesment with Jason who was absolutly wonderful he sat with me and explained the training and put me through the best workout i have ever had, I have now been training for about 3 months and have seen AMAZING results! so for the cost of the gym and what you get you cant beat it!
