Our house in Santa Monica was seriously under water because we purchased our home at the height of the market. After the bottom fell out of the housing industry, I lost my high paying job. My wife went back to work but it wasn't enough to continue to pay for our house, private school and car payments. After eight months, we went through our savings and couldn't pay our mortgage. A former co-worker shared his experience with how he went through a short sale so we decided to do the same. We interviewed three Realtors and went with the one who brought the shiniest brochures. Honestly, they all seemed the same and said the same things. This guy had previous short sale experience so we felt comfortable. Unfortunately, it turned into a disaster. Long story short, I met Jonathan Anozie at a local charity event where he was a speaker and had a chance to chat with him. He was very different than any of the real estate agents that we met. I wanted to hire him to short sale our home but he was too busy and politely turned me down. He did offer to connect us with some excellent short sale agents that he knew. Because he is the Broker of The Realty Exchange Firm he also offered to have one of his senior agents handle it. But I wanted Jonathan. After a few days of calls and a lot of persuading, he finally agreed to have his personal team handle the short sale. I fired my agent and put my home in Jonathan's hands. My nightmare was no longer. His team handled everything and kept us updated from beginning to end. They fixed the foreclosure proceedings on my home and sold it without any financial contribution from my personal bank account...something my other agent couldn't accomplish. In the end, it wasn't fun having to uproot my family from a home we loved but at least we got a fresh start. I'm thankful that Jonathan took us on as clients. He's a genuinely caring person and true real estate professional.
