Good Place for Two-Leggeds and Four-Legged Friends

I love the concept of this place - outdoor dining in the park where my four-legged companions are welcome, and even have their own menu items to choose from. My human friend and I were craving pancakes, so we decided to drive over to Park Bench and take her pup along for the ride. My friend had a full stack of the banana nut, and I had a full stack of the buttermilk. We shared a side of bacon (with each other and the dog:). The pancakes were good - a little on the dense and heavy side, rather than pillowy or fluffy, but they were good. I believe our side of bacon included five good sized-slices - two each for us and one for the pup - and all in all our experience was a good one. The fare here is equal to or a notch above "diner food," but it was more than palatable. I'll definitely go back when I'm in the area.

Questionable Food & Service

Just got back from eating at the Park Bench Cafe, and did not have a pleasent experience. I was with my wife and it seemed like it took forever for the waitress to even bring us water. We ordered some breakfast and found that the eggs were thoroughly undercooked and the biscuits were not very soft. Each time I asked for a refill, the waitress made it seem as if she was doing me a favor. We even asked for another server, but were told they were under staffed. I do not like attitude with my eggs. I have no problems waiting for service for food that justifies the price and wait, but this place was a severe disappointment. It was recommended to us by some close friends, but afterwards we called and told them about our disgust. My wife and I will not go back to this place, and although it is in a wonderful location, I still expect better quality of food and service for the price I am paying. The only saving grace of this place were the beautiful dogs near our table. However, the food and service quickly turned our smiles upside down.

Rude Manager

We decided to meet at this cafe since we had heard they were dog friendly, of course some of us have dogs and we were looking for a place to meet, majority of the customers had dog and it was going great until we requested to sit in the shade. We were told it was not possible (even though there were plenty of empty tables in the shade) when we asked to speak with the manager, he never showed up at our table. We also noticed since we requested for the manager the waitress also failed to stop by our table again until it was time to deliver the bill. All other tables were being served water through out their meal and the waitress were checking in on the customers, but our table was ignored. Once leaving the manager approached us (a little to late) and was upset that we had complained about the table (by the way the umbrella on the table was broken) and said he did not want to see us again. With no explanation, never gave us a chance to speak. Never have I recieved such bad service and felt so humiliated, was it because we complained about the broken umbrella or because we were the only hispanics at this place. I would reccommend not to ever eat at this establishment, great for dogs but horrible for people. By the way the food was not great, would've had better breakfast at McDonalds
