Provided by YPmobileI eat at Cafe East weekly if not twice a week sometimes. I noticed that the reviews that are posted are well out of date. The food is consistently good. Hot, large amount of items to choose from. The mussels are awesome as well as the wonton soup. In fact it was the sou that kept me returning. Since the posted reviews I've been reading are quite some time ago the management must have changed. I started going there in 2008 and have noticed a gradual change for the better. I am always treated very well and in fact am surprised at the courteousness of the staff. All in all very friendly towards me me and never an issue. I truly look forward to weekly eatout there. You may want to give it another try.

Provided by YP.comThis place used to be really good. I used to go all the time on my lunch break since i work in humble, it is close and they have a wide selection. hadnt gone in a while and just went recently. it was not that great at all. dont know if they changed owner or what but everything had no taste and sat too long. not happy. Hope they will do something to make better. I left and didnt have to pay..tried to go to Arbys but they closed it down so went and got a burger.

Provided by YP.comCafe East has a great selection of Chinese food on the buffet. Some things are really good, others are just fair... but you can't argue with the selection. First the good. The fried, breaded sweet bean paste balls are very good. Most of their fried foods are well made, including the wontons, egg rolls and spring rolls and fried chicken. The soups are well made... not the best but still pretty good. On the bar, the fried rice and lo-mein are ok. Some entree dishes are the same things you'd normally expect, not really outstanding but good. There is so much selection that you will definitely find some things to make you happy. The sushi really needs some help. California rolls are good, but their traditional sushi tastes a little like sour milk. Instead of having a fresh sushi aroma and flavor... it tastes like they soaked the fish in soured milk to remove the fishy flavor. Whatever is the problem, either get it right or stop calling it sushi. Anyone who knows better wouldn't eat their traditional sushi. That's a shame, because that is a nice feature of their buffet. Just a little extra effort and it could be a selling point to attract more customers. The restaurant decor is nice, very good for family gatherings, business lunches or friends having dinner together. Dining area is nicely decorated and seating is comfortable. I like eating here and bringing my family for the buffet. There is something for everyone, even if you don't like traditional chinese... and prices are low. Definite recommend. A little extra effort on food quality (particularly the sushi) and they could get a four star rating.
