I found Gordon in the Gun library to be very helpful and knowledgeable when I was there last week! Exceptional service!

Nice selection, good customer service, but prices are HIGH, which is why I am only rating them 3 stars. If you don't mind excessive transfer fees ($50) and steep prices on guns, Cabela's is good. But if you're a newbie to guns, Cabela's has friendly staff to get you through the process of owning your first gun.

gun staff is nothing but old cranks. If you aren't interested in a revolver or lever action rifle they don't have the time of day for you. None of them are willing to move on from the "guns that won the west" to more modern guns that won the cold war or the middle east.

Take your money elsewhere!!! All of the employees seem to be bothered when I ask to see a gun. The run weekly sale ads for guns that they either don't have, or they only have two of them. All the sale items are gone unless you're the first person in the store.



I have asked them several times to hold an item for me or let me pay in advance, they basically told me to **** off! They're prices are insane, and the sales tax is 10%!!!! I can't understand why anyone would purchase a gun at cabelas. There is no shortage of gun shops in northern IL. Shop around!

Poorly trained and rude staff. Should not recommend for shopping.

This is a huge store with a large selection of outdoor items as well as clothes, guns, boats and they also have a restaurant inside. They have a membership club where you can earn money for the purchases you make. If you are an outdoor person, you can probably find everything you need here. Highly recommended !!!!
