We bought a new mattress at Sleep Country in January, three weeks after I had back surgery. Our sales person Mike was very helpful and we were pleased with our purchase.



While the mattress was being delivered, I mistakenly left a newly refilled, full bottle of Percocet on my nightstand (I only took it when I climbed into bed at night) and I was out of the house during the delivery. My husband was working with the delivery men (one who was a trainer who had been with the company for 12 years with an excellent service record, one who had been with the company for a month).



My husband left the new employee alone in our bedroom, as he held the front door open for the other fella, to have our old mattress hauled away and the delivery went smoothly.



When I went to bed that evening, I noticed my prescription was missing and we thoroughly searched the room. An easy search as we have hardwood floors and no clutter. The prescription was missing.



I was stunned, sad and unhappy (I have never been robbed). We couldn't believe it and kept searching, knowing it wasn't in the house, and it wasn't. After a night of no sleep, as I needed that prescription for my recovery, I called Sleep Country Corporate.



They were not helpful in the least! Actually, stunningly unhelpful and couldn't care in the slightest that something had been stolen from my home. I went all the way to the top, to Sleep Country's loss prevention manager. This.....this unhelpfulness was from her. I made a report with the Portland Police and they said Sleep Country was unlikely to be helpful in an investigation, and he was correct.



While I love my mattress, the idea that something could go missing and they didn't care, makes me loathe to recommend them to anyone.

You pay thousands of dollars for a new mattress and delivery and your home and valuables are not safe with their employees in it.



I'm just glad the prescription was replaceable, that I had vacation time to cover the day off I had to take because I was in such pain with no medication for a day and glad that my wedding ring or some other precious item didn't go "Missing".

The bottom line, good mattresses, decent prices, and hide anything you value before delivery and stay with the delivery people at ALL times.



Sleep Country will leave you hanging when it comes to both customer service and accountability.

I will NEVER shop there again. Regrettable and fixable on their end, if they had cared.
