Originally a ceramics company, Evans Design Group is a diverse group of artists, designers and craftspeople that create and produce fine decorative accessories for connoisseurs and collectors. The group has extensive expertise in Raku, an ancient Japanese firing technique. The process involves pulling the vessels and sculpture from the kiln at 2,000 degrees and plunging them into a smoke chamber that transforms their glazes in dramatic ways. A unique palette of colors and a range of smoke and crackle patterns characterize this exotic ceramic firing process. Glass blowing is another highly skilled craft practiced at Evans Design. The group s products include hand-blown art glass, boxes, centerpieces, plates, sculpture, stands, urns and vases and various wall d cor pieces. Evans Design Group operates from the wine country of Sonoma County in Healdsburg, Calif., and maintains permanent showrooms in Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta and Highpoint, N.C.
