Best prime rib on I've ever had! We come up to our cabin nearby every weekend in the summer and tried the place. Not disappointed at all! We like it so much that we usually eat here 2-3 times during our weekends and it is the usual place to take company for a good meal. Breakfasts are generous -- real eggs, good sausage that doesn't have those little bits of grizzle, bacon done just right, big pancakes, and really good cinnamon rolls. Lunch and dinner menu has a great selection of sandwiches and dinners -- all of which are really good. Friday night fish fry is amazingly good. Have had both the fried and baked and they do not disappoint. The prime rib is the best I've ever had, bar none, and I've eaten a lot of prime rib in my day. Sunday chicken is just like my grandma's. My mouth waters just thinking about it. If you plan to get the specials on Friday (fish), Saturday (prime rib) or Sunday (chicken), get there early because they do run out. And the desserts! All of their pies are homemade and delicious. I especially like the cheesecake with fruit topping. So good! My mouth is watering as I write this -- makes me already look forward to some prime rib tonight!

The place is family friendly, unlike the four bars in the area that are the only other 'restaurants'. Staff is friendly and always very nice. Decor is 50s ish, but I guess I could care less about what is on the wall as a guy (my wife is good with, "oh, that's so cute"). Always people eating there no matter what time you go in, which to me, is a good sign because it means that the food it good.

Also, previous comment was not for Smiley's, but for the restaurant that was there before. New owners, new staff, much better food and menu.

CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The owners announced on facebook that they'd close Oct 2011. Food expensive, can't make it, blah blah blah. A simple restructuring of their business would have kept them afloat. The food was just so-so, nothing to rave about. A farmer could get a sandwich or a daily special. The building was new and kept up. the decor was country kitchen meets Mayberry. Flat parking lot , gravel parking, next to a gas station. the only place in town that was inviting and NOT a bar. Kid friendly with a big map on the wall. Someone decorated cakes and took pictures but they were childish in nature, not a pro OBVIOUSLY! but good conversation while waiting for the food.

With no other choices for miles this place was popular. I say sell it to a professional and the place could be a gold mine.

Oh, and one waitress walked like she had a truck stop schooling, no kidding! That's the reason I return after dining here a few times. It was distracting to say the least . Take that anyway you want, I am not the only persona to think it among my group that day!

One highschooler in the kitchen does not a chef make.
