I Michael Baker and Elfriede Baker house fire, on November 15th, 2018 we lost everything we owned, even our vehicles. After searching and shopping around we decided to give Dixie R.V. In Hammond Louisiana our business.
On December 17th, 2018, we purchased a fifth wheel R.V. we called out home. We fell in love with it. We explained to the sales man we would be living in it until we were able to rebuild our home.
The sales men says “this will be the perfect home for y’all. We bought our home for the amount of $41,500. We were so happy, they told us to enjoy our new home, and that’s exactly what we intended to do.
Little did we know after only a week of living in the home, we started noticing things that just wasn’t right. The lights were missing the covers. The fire place was missing the glass piece. We didn’t even have a water faucet. The windows were missing the knobs to open and close them. The air conditioning wasn’t working right. The fire escape window over laps the other windows so you couldn’t exit if you needed to.
We tried several times to reach out to Dixie R.V. to come fix our problems. We later learned that our home had been being used for parts for other trailers on the lot. Tell tell us they would have to order all of our parts for our home.
Now keep in mind we purchased this trailer as a brand new home. It should have come with everything as showed. This was very disappointing to me and my wife. They would never come out and fix it for us.
They told us if we would move our home to the pumpkin patch camp ground, they could come and start working on it.
So we did what they asked, after renting for 5 months at $500 a month, they came out and looked at it but did absolutely nothing. So this was $2,500 down the drain.
While living at the camp ground we noticed that all three slide outs were leaking. In front of the front door was weak and the door was also leaking.
