Khurram Pervaiz, M.D.  is a dual fellowship trained Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in shoulder, elbow and hand surgery.   Dr. Pervaiz earned his Medical Degree from the King Edward Medical School. He completed a surgical Internship at Maimonides Medical Center in New York followed by an orthopedic surgery Residency at the Medical College of Virginia. After residency Dr. Pervaiz completed Fellowships in hand & upper extremity surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic and in shoulder & elbow surgery at the Florida Orthopedic Institute. Dr. Pervaiz received a scholarship to medical school. He has a special interest in shoulder replacement and has published research on the correlation between bone mineral density and fixation techniques for shoulder replacement surgery. His other areas of research include wrist biomechanics, limited wrist fusion, carpal tunnel syndrome and total elbow replacement. His research has been presented at international meetings, in peer reviewed journals and orthopedic textbooks. Dr. Pervaiz is a reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and serves on several committees for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics. He is Board Certified and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He also holds a certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in hand surgery and is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Pervaiz is a certified rescue scuba diver and loves to spend his free time traveling and exploring the underwater world.

Very good and knowledgable shoulder surgeon

Right shoulder rotator cuff issue on a previously repaired shoulder 15 years earlier, He told me that another repair might work but if not, then a reverse replacement shoulder surgery is needed (replace rotator with a titanium ball and inset a rod with a socket into the humerus. That was 2.5 years ago and it works great with no pains.
