The five stars are deserved in any category, despite the fact that this top of the line repair and musical instrument 'band shop' is primarily a service shop. I have never asked for a supply for my kids' band needs which was not supplied.
More importantly, with the ever increasing cost of instruments, and the with the need to maintain them, it is a true find to locate a shop that gives an outstanding service and VALUE that you can count on. A couple of times I needed minor services for my son's clarinet and for my daughter's flute. Both times I received a quick turn around time and repairs that were beyond the average 'patchjob'...and at reasonable rates. Likewise, when I had to purchase a stand, , a music book or other incidentals, Mr. Mizell secured them for me despite not regularly carrying them.
If none of that occurred I would still give this shop 5 stars for the most important of reasons (to me). As a collector of trumpets and cornets I have had the need to get repair work done that was, in reality, a refurbishment of two different horns.
It took us only a few minutes for Mr. Mizell to ascertain what I was looking for when I brought the trumpets in..he saw the job ahead much more clearly than I did. In both cases the instruments came back to me in such astonishingly 'newish' condition for vintage models that I was delighted. My mates in our local horn's club and on the trumpet forums are of the same opinion. He is a master.
Perhaps equally important is the cost. His charges have always been 'more than fair', even economical !
