WOW thank you doughnut Gods

I have for years been a hard pressed Krispy Kream fan.. I have scoffed at Dunkin Doughnuts and other lesser forms of the circular treat and hunted down the harder to find krispy kream... Krispy kream will never hold a place in my doughnut heart again... The best thing about the city of Greeneville is Peggy Anns Bakery, she has a wide selections of cookies, pies, breads rolls, cakes, doughnuts and any other belt busting confection you could dream up. Locals all know where Peggy Anns is when they open and when they close ( july 4 -14, saddest part of the summer). The doughnuts are my favorite, large and doughy sweet glaze coating the whole thing. Each one a slightly different shape, because they are made by hand. If you are blessed and make it there just as they are setting them on the racks and get a warm one with some cold milk, you will know what heaven is. At first bite the sweet glaze coats your tounge and lets the warm fried dough melt in your mouth, but its on bite two that you fall in love. ( at least thats how it happen to me) I would say if you are with in 50 miles of Peggy Anns you should make the stop and try the Dougnuts........
