Located in Grayslake, Ill., College of Lake County is a community college offering a wide range of academic programs. Its major programs include credit programs to prepare students for transfers and career entry; general education development and adult basic education; noncredit programs for personal and career development; and contract training and specialized service programs for businesses. The college operates various academic divisions, such as adult and community education; biological and health sciences; business education; communication arts; humanities and fine arts; engineering math and physical science; and social sciences. Its business education programs include accounting; administrative office systems; business administration and management; computer information systems; food service and paralegal studies. Its communication arts, humanities and fine arts section provides journalism, foreign languages, humanities, library technical assistant, multimedia communications, music, philosophy, technical communication and theater programs. The college serves more than 16,000 credit students every semester.
