First of all we want to say how sorry we are that "Shelly" had a bad experience. And we hope that she will give us a chance to make amends! She is correct that when we take in a piece of equipment we call with an estimate for what we find wrong - a diagnosis. The small amount we take in as a diagnostic fee covers the time the mechanic spent figuring out what is wrong. The first thing we do is check compression and do a leak down, if it fails these tests there is no point in reassembling, however at the customers request we will re assemble it. We also try to look at equipment before we ever take any diagnostic fee and if it looks like something major is wrong, bent blade, no oil, very old and worn out, we try to tell the customer up front and not even take it in to look at it. We ARE NOT here to gouge people. My husband and I have owned this business for 12 years and Grone's has been in business for 28 years. We do sell a wide variety of equipment, but only suggest this if the persons unit is not repairable and this is entirely up to the customer. We have hundreds of satisfied customers. We do our best to have good customer care. I thank "Shelly" for the chance to respond to her unhappy experience.
