DO NOT SEE DR. CHRISSIE ESPINOLA



I requested an appointment at the Glendale Family Medicine to see my PCP Dr. Issac Kim. He was not available, so a Dr. Chrissie Espinola took my appointment.



I explained the severe pain I am under, I expressed that muscle relaxants and anti inflamitory medicine was not targeting the pain and in fact, I no longer wanted to mask the pain but rather understand what was wrong with me. I have had chronic back pain for two years and a few days ago it got worse to the point I couldn't stand up.



I explained I was in a lot of pain and needed to get some x-rays. She on the other hand stated that she didn't think I needed x-rays and all I needed was one of my muscle relaxers to which I stated that they were not working and I refused to take anything that would make me groggy an or simply not address the root cause.



She continued to deny me the option to a proper diagnosis and pointed out that if I insisted on x-rays she would note that in my chart, so the insurance company would charge me full price.



She treated me like I was seeking drugs, which is exactly what I didn't want any more of. She treated me like I had munchausens. She refused to help me understand or take the proper steps to a diagnosis.



I woke up with worse pain than the first day and worse than on the day of my visit. She treated me in a very unprofessional way holding my fate over my head. Not willing to help me understand what is wrong with my back and saying to come back in a month if the pain persists. I don't want pills and I explained that I didn't want her to keep guessing but to please help me by getting a picture of my back.



She made me perform movements that were painful, I couldn't stand up straight, but forced me to anyway. I left in tears and of course I told her to go EFF herself! Although I used the full word. This is the worse experience and I am sure that my back problem is more severe than what she guessed it to be. She kept guessing (could be this, maybe that, hard to say... She said) I begged her for pictures - but the problem wasn't that she wouldn't agree, the problem was that she threatened me with making me pay full price and saying that my pain was my problem not hers. Her words.



Whatever happens here, I deserve an apology, and while I'm sure she will not provide it I will pursue all avenues to ensure this doctor doesn't get away with hurting other people. Whatever happens to me will be on her, I'm in far more pain at this point and don't know which way to turn next. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR!!!!!!
