We used Jct Electric for our generator. They were the best of 4 company's we had out. I found them to be very knowledgable and I felt most comfortable with them. Fred was honest and straight forward from the beginning. It was a long painful process getting township approval but the office did a great job. John and Matt did the installation and they were the best guys we every had work in our house. I am very picky about how things are done and these guys are top notch. I can't say enough about them. The township inspector even commented on how nice there work is. I gave there number to 2 neighbors and they are also using them. I made the right choice and would highly recommend.

Stay away. They talk a good game to get you to sign up for a maintenance contract with them and promise you they will be out within 24 hours if you have a problem. Hope you don't have to call for their help though because that is all a bunch of lies.



Our new natural gas Generac generator stopped working and we needed them to come out to us as soon as possible (within 24 hours as promised) and the owner Fred started screaming at me on the phone saying that he was short staffed and would not be able to come till a week later. This happened on a Tuesday and he said he could not possibly come till next Mon or Tues. Almost a full week later. That is totally unacceptable given that we had already had significant damage from Sandy (this was now 6 months later) and couldn't let our home flood adding to the damage we had already suffered. That was the whole reason we signed a 2 year service maintenance contract with them because they- Kathy (wife) and Fred (owner) promised no matter the problem if our generator stopped working they would be to us within 24 hours.



When Fred started screaming at me because I said we were promised they would come to fix any issues within 24 hours I put my husband on the phone. And Fred proceeded to scream at him as well and refused to even let him speak. Yelling profanities and the such for no reason at all as we were being polite and respectful.



Needless to say we called another electric company who came the next day and fixed our generator on the spot. Thank you Ben Franklin electric. Very professional. Interestingly enough the owner of Ben Franklin said it didn't look like our Generac had been serviced the week before which supposedly it was according to Fred at JCT electric. The oil was filthy and needed replacing as well as other maintenance issues which JCT had been hired to do on a regular basis. All around an awful and unprofessional experience with JCT and Fred the owner and his wife Kathy. Beware as they promise you everything and deliver on nothing.



Fred had no choice but to refund on a prorated basis the money we had given him for a 2 year service contract. However he did manage to keep over $200 that he didn't earn (ie stole from us basically) but I guess lesson learned. It took us over a month to get that money back as well. Kathy had said our refund was in the mail several times when I called to see why we still hadn't received the check. For some reason they would not refund us on our credit card (that was how we paid months earlier when we signed the contract with them). So not only don't they make good on their promises to deliver service in a timely manner nor on their promises to give our generator regular maintenance (for which we were paying) but they also lie about when the refund will be sent. Literally over a month to get our money back on a contract we cancelled on the spot after being cursed and yelled at by Fred.



I loathe writing reviews that are not good but I just didn't want someone else to experience the unpleasantness and incompetence we did at the hands of JCT. I mean we are all still recovering from Sandy (and some of us from Irene) and it is unconscionable that there are people out there just waiting to take advantage of people who have suffered so much already. Shame on you JCT. And thank you to the honest professionals out there who have helped so many.
