For the most part Navy Federal Credit Union will help American veterans with lowering the interest rate on car loans. Plus: In financing a morgage to get a house. Plus: Even help with providing real estate agents. Plus: Even offer a certificate of deposit . For a higher interest rate. Mostly all the staff are very professional and considerate. However; On Feb 1, 2019 while standing in line. A customer was over heard asking the credit union teller for a copy of his current balance. The out side : ATM machine was not working. What really shocked us is the credit union teller said the credit union's member's current balance out loud. As we know a balance is private . We heard the credit union member teller for a copy of his balance. No where did the credit union member tell or ask the teller to yell out his current balance. Then the teller claimed he would note this is notes on the computer. He was heard saying : " He has lots of customers and some like there balance said out loud ". He continued : He was heard saying : " He would try to remember that the customer does not want his balance read out loud". As we know the word : Try , means half way. The example is if a employee told the boss he would try to show up for work. Then the other employee said, He will show up for work. Then obviously the employee that said , He will show up for work . Gives a more positive response. So obviously we would trust the employee that said the word will. This is the very tall male Hispanic adult at will employee. I hope management can please look into this. Most customers don't want their total balance yelled out loud. This is private and personal . When a customer asks for a copy. That obviously means something in writing . No where does asking for a copy indicate or imply anything yelled out loud. Next: On another occasion a teller was asked to please take out so much money from the account of the credit union member. The teller asked : " May I ask what the money is for "? The customer could have responded: " That is personal ". Why do we have credit union tellers asking credit union members what they are using the money for. Also : While waiting in line some tellers are available however; They give the impression they don't want to help certain credit union members. Is there a reason for this ? It can perhaps give the impression some tellers are perhaps biased toward certain credit union members. I hope this is not the case? I do hope management can please look into this. Isn't it all about customer service ? The incident with the teller yelling out the account balance took place on: Friday . February 1, 2019. Is this in his protocol? Or in any where in his employee hand book to yell out any credit union's members balance out loud ? So other people can hear the balance ? That is very unprofessional . I do hope there is no retaliation for making a complaint? Calif. Labor Code: 6310? Out side of this ; The credit union is much better then a bank.
