Just north of the Fort Worth area is a Lutheran Social Services sponsored home for youngsters 5 to 15. These kiddos have come from broken homes, abusive situations, places where they were not wanted - and more. The goal of the home is to help the youth get their lives on track and to then help find a permanent home for each of them. It is the desire of the home leaders to try to find a new place for each child within a year of coming to the Nelson center. We feel this home provides a most valuable service to our community and to so many youth. Our congregation has taken on the Nelson Home as one of our continual projects, and members are invited to contribute funds-outside of the church budget- to help the home in various ways-outings clothing, new Bibles, the new building fund- and much more. We also try to be ready when some special need comes along. Over $6000 was contributed in 2001- our first year.
