I did not have the opportunity to meet Dr. Fuentes no thanks to his receptionist, who also turned out to be the "manager", Maria. My dentist informed me that I would need a root canal, so I researched some affordable options in my area and stumbled across Dr. Fuentes's office and decided to call and setup an appointment. Maria greeted promptly and began asking a series of ill organized questions, either distracted from her duties or not properly trained. I begin to hear a phone ringing, not distant in the background but directly into the phone as if to hold it near her face to see who may be calling. The personal phone rang quite a few times, not silenced, before Maria ask to place me on hold, assuming so she can answer her personal phone(an I-phone with the standard I-phone ringtone) Mind you I am a new patient seeking a service being provided. Never the less, she returns to the line and I politely say" I'm sorry ma'am, did you place me on hold so that you may answer your phone." Without hesitation and in a immediate defensive responsiveness she says "NO!, Excuse me that is not any of your business, who are you to ask me that question. You are being very disrespectful and rude. It is not your business to ask me what I am doing". I politely respond(because there is incentive for me to keep the peace_still in need of a root canal), "Ma'am, I am a new patient seeking counsel, and I believe it to be a bit unprofessional to have a loud ringtone play without silencing it, and have the ring continue up until I was placed on mute." She stammers a bit and continues on about how disrespectful I am being and says" Excuse me who are you to ask me personal information? As a matter of fact we do not need patients like you." And then hangs up the phone on me. I am eager to reach the Dentist as well as a superior to this "Maria" to verify my claims that she has an I-phone with the standardized ringtone. How else would I know this when I live 40 miles away from their office. If left not rectified my assumptions of this office and their conduct of operation will be confirmed and would like others to know what to expect from the receptionist who represents a reputable dentist.

My dentist does not do root canals & referred me to Dr Fuentes. I had two appointments a week apart in April 2012.My experience was fantastic on both visits (as far as root canals go). He & his staff treated me great. He explained what he was doing as he was doing it. And the only pain I had were the intial shots he gave. I do recommend him & have to several people I know.

I have used other endodontists in Ft Myers. Dr. Fuentes provides a calm atmosphere and is very gentle. He constantly lets you know what to expect throughout the procedure. I have never felt any pain and I have received 3 root canals from Dr. Fuentes. I would recommend him to anyone. Bill W.

Before Dr. Fuentes, I had a nightmare 4 hour root canal from another local general dentist. This unnamed dentist even lost part of the tool in my root canal and didn't bother to tell me about it until I was in the chair for the final crown. The doctor, though pleasant, talked and laughed with the nurse nonstop. He always seemed distracted.Dr. Fuentes, however, was incredible! I went to Fuentes to check on this past nightmare root canal and I went back again to get another root canal done. I had no idea a root canal could be so pain free! Even the anesthetics were painless! He talked to me every step of the way, explaining what he would be doing and how long it would take. He showed me on the xrays! He measured the length of my roots so that there would be no unexpected curves, etc. (like my last one that took 4 hours!) He and the nurse were so attentive at all times and so professional. The staff--Heidi, Diana, and Maria are amazing--so friendly and so professional. THANK YOU!

I am a former member of the dental profession and went to Dr. Fuentes on recommendation of a friend. I could not have been treated in a more friendly and professional manner.

I made an appt. with Dr Fuentes for a root canal. I asked Dr. Fuentes office staff some general questions re: insurance acceptance, co pays, general years of practice etc. On the day of the appt., I returned a call to the office secretary to reconfirm my appt, and while doing so, I also accepted an earlier time slot per office request d/t a last minute cancellation. While in the office filling out the required forms, I asked to sign a copy of a medical release form regarding todays visit/work done for my personal record. The secretary offered a copy of xray which I accepted, I continued filling out the necessary forms when secretary returns seconds later to inform me " Dr Fuentes is cancelling appointment d/t md feels he is unable to establish pt and md rapport because of all the questions." I was shocked and left very upset. No other reason was given. I'm not sure why this office became defensive in answering general questions, but feel others should be made aware

I made an appointment with Dr. Gustavo Fuentes for a root canal. The week prior, while booking the appointment, I asked Dr. Fuentes’ office secretary some general questions regarding my insurance acceptance, co-pays/obligations, physician’s general years of practice, etc. On the day of the appointment, I returned a call to the office secretary confirming my appointment, and while doing so, also accepted an earlier appointment slot per office request due to a last minute cancellation. While in the office filling out the required forms, I had requested to sign a copy of a medical release form regarding today’s visit, and work done for my personal records. The secretary conveyed a sense of inconvenience regarding this request. The secretary offered a copy of x-ray, which I accepted. The secretary left the room for a moment, as I continued filling out the necessary forms. Upon return, the secretary informs me; "Dr Fuentes is cancelling your appointment today”. She continued to state that t
