I hired Warren Cross mid-May to do quite a bit of work around the house in the order of a large sum of money. He hired several very excellent subcontractors who did about 2/3 of the work. I paid up-front about 70% for the work. After the 2/3s of the work was done, Warren indicated that he needed the balance of funds to complete the job. He was already delayed about 5 weeks, but I gave him the balance. What I got for the balance was very shoddy work and when I spoke to Warren about it, he was very vague and elusive. In addition, he only showed up occasionally after he was paid in full. I started getting calls and contacts that he didn’t pay the sub-contractors in-full. After I notified Warren, he essentially disappeared. I figured that I’m out thousands for (a) non-work that was contracted and (b) repair to what I see was shoddy work. Warren told me repeatedly that he was a licensed contractor as he also told his subcontractors. I didn’t do my ‘due diligence’. He is NOT on the Arizona Registry of Contractors. So it’s off to report him to the Registry of Contractors who will investigate this. Consider yourself now informed and don’t make a big and expensive mistake by hiring Warren. Of course, all of this is my 'opinion', but the ROC will investigate and determine what is actually true. You may contact me for many more specifics, if you’d like. It is my opinion that 'Buyer beware' should apply.
