FYI

This incident occurred June 24th around 4:30 pm at the Faribault location.

I did tell them I would take this to social media.

It is not the norm for me to use social media to discuss a bad customer service experience. I am the person that calls the 1-800 # when I receive good customer service.

There is always a first for everything.

As most of you know, I have worked in sales and customer service most of my adult life. I could never imagine treating anyone the way we were treated today at Faribault Rental.

Here goes....
The lack of integrity and professionalism from Faribault Rental aka Rent N' Save aka Big Top Rental owner, Chuck, and his employees was gut wrenching today.

This guy has five stores in the area. Northfield, Faribault, Owatonna, Waseca and Austin.

We had rented round tables and chairs from Faribault Rental a couple of months ago for graduation. The venue changed and we had to cancel the order not two weeks later. I received half the amount back (it was paid in full) and was informed by Chuck himself that we would receive the rest if they are able to rent the tables for that day to someone else.

We called and they had rented out all of the round tables. We stoped in for our refund and were given the run around, and not politely either. Chuck denied he ever said that to me. My son was with me when he said it. The woman I assume takes care of the books then rudely said we would not be getting a refund. Chuck then went behind the counter and insisted (very loudly) as he poked his finger in my face (Jason put a stop to that immediately) that is not how he does business and he had been in business many years. There was a LOT of profanity and yelling from Chuck and his employees towards us. This is unacceptable and unprofessional.

Well, at that point I lost it.

I had been informed shortly before we went in for our refund that when my son worked for Chuck taking down tents after parties, he had been told by Chuck that Chuck was holding his pay for that day to pay the taxes on what he had already paid Austin. This made no sense to me as Chuck paid him in cash, under the table so to speak.

I called him out on it.

The profanity flew from all three of their mouthes. How dare I make that accusation. The woman behind the counter told me to get my son there so she could hear it from him. So, I called him and he was there in just a few minutes. My son then told them he had not been paid and verified what had been said to him by Chuck. He was finally paid!

The woman then turned on her heels and said she f'n refused to write us a check for anything. Guess she didn't expect my son to show up and verify what was said to him.

There are other options for equipment Rental in southern Mn.

Farm & Home in Faribault, G & K Rental in Mankato & South Metro Rental in Lakeville.

BTW - we are still waiting for that refund. Not holding my breath. I guess it's easier to misrepresent yourself and your business than to show some integrity.
