Many professional interior designers can create a beautiful room, so how do you find the right one? Do they get to know you by asking questions and learning about your passions, how the room is to be used, your style and your budget? Shea Studio Interiors provides each client with a Project Jump Starter prior to our first meeting. It prompts you to hone in on some of your project's essentials, must haves, and priorities. Then, at our first meeting we clarify by asking questions and answering yours. We also use that time to firm up your budget. It's then that we will begin to develop an interior design plan that encompasses your aesthetic and functional desires and reflects your budget. Do they go out of their way to find, or create just the right items that convey your unique style and personality? We don't try to find the most expensive item for your room; we try to find the best item for your room ' which is typically not the most expensive. Quite often, we'll find a piece that is gorgeous and expensive, then, we'll go out of our way to find a similar item, with the same quality or better, for less money. And, if we can't find that special item, we can get it made for you, for less money than you might imagine. Will they effectively interface and negotiate with suppliers, craftsman and contractors so you don't have to? Our experience working with these professionals has allowed us to prevent some design disasters, created some fantastic collaborations that resulted in even better rooms, and more often than not, helped our clients steer clear of the challenges coordinating these efforts can be. Do they provide you with flat fee pricing instead of hourly rates so there are no surprises when the final bill arrives? Nothing can bring the elation of a completed room down faster than ever-increasing job costs or a surprise final bill. Prior to work starting, we establish a flat price for the work to be completed. If, for any reason, the scope of the work needs to change, or any issues arise that will impact your budget, we let you know before any additional costs are incurred.
