El Rancho was built in 1948 by the Jahnke family as a trading post. They sold the building in November 1953 to Mildred and Ray Zipprich, Milwaukee Wisconsin pie distributors. Their daughter Donna and son-in-law Paul McEncroe joined them in February 1958 and operated it, with their children, until 1988. After the McEncroes sold El Rancho in 1988 it was owned and operated by various families. In May 2015 the Vincent families renovated the historic restaurant as a brew pub, opening in November 2015. The updated El Rancho is dedicated to serving the community as a gathering place, preparing tasty meals, producing quality craft beer, and keeping Colorado great.El Rancho was built in 1948 by the Jahnke family as a trading post. No customer value. If you want to feel like you matter, go elsewhere. We planned a wedding gathering at this venue months in advance after speaking with a manager saying she could do it, only to have her back out less than a week from the wedding saying that "it's just not worth it for them to stay open," leaving us scrambling. El Rancho will not be seeing any of our party during our week stay in Evergreen even if we have to go miles out of our way to avoid them. Additionally, I hear terrbile reviews about their food. Thanks for nothing, and I hope this helps others avoid this place.

I can only hope that El Rancho suffers less than the people they reject out of hand. Maybe they are way too busy to handle increased traffic from people who would like a 'fine dining experience' (I'm being very generous here), or maybe the rube who spoke to me was too full of her high and mighty title as 'chief hostess'. Either way, I'm not interested in helping them get business any more.

They USED to be a very good restaurant, THere have been thousands of famous people who have eaten there, but that's no longer relevant.

Even if their food was better than Alpo these days (which is a different point of debate), I wouldn't recommend them to my dog, or even my friend's dog, since they don't have the decency to say "no thanks, or "we can't help right now", or something somewhat courteous. Instead, I get to listen to their spiel about how they might maybe lose money because they could be thought of as generous.

Since I had to endure their diatribe about their potential suffering, instead of the real suffering of others like my friend's daughter, They can endure a 1 star rating from me, and a "Steer clear at all costs" warning to anyone that asks me from now on.

We've been regular patrons, and have brought other customers there, even through all the changes in menu and management, but that's going to change from here on.
