I called Providency OB/GYN to schedule an appointment with a gynecologist this morning due to the fact that I've had 3 periods in 2 weeks which has left me exhausted and in pain. They would NOT see me without the transfer of 3 year old medical records, even though I explained repeatedly that those records had nothing to do with my current situation. The nurse agreed the records were not specific to the current situation but would not schedule me due to Providence policy. I'm sure they can provide a better quality of care with all data, whether relevant or not, but to expect a patient who is in serious pain to sit and wait for the transfer of UNRELATED medical records is ridiculous. I will never go to Providence for any care. "Policy over People" should be the Providence motto.
