Following the move to San Diego, we began our family business in 1982 as a repair shop for typewriters, calculators and copier machines, under the name of Integrated Office Systems. Its president, Peter Rose, brought to the business over 30 years of experience in the office equipment industry in Canada. Following corporate management positions he established Combined Business Systems, becoming the largest office equipment dealer in Ontario and Quebec, together with a dealer network across Canada. Within 4 years our San Diego company, with a staff of 30 technicians and 10 in sales and administration, was supporting over 2,000 organizations, including such customers as UCSD, Scripps Hospitals, San Diego Port District, Cubic Corp., and military bases from North Island to Camp Pendleton. By 1995 with a growing emphasis upon laser printer and copier technology, the customer base had grown to over 4,000. Following Peter Roses semi-retirement in 1996, DocuFlow Solutions Inc. was formed to integrate the operations of both companies under the management of Kirt Simmons, another family member with extensive experience in office machine technology. Today, Kirt leads a team of highly specialized technicians and marketing support staff to meet the growing needs of todays digital technology and document management. DocuFlow Solutions now occupies a unique position in San Diego with its wide range of authorized product representation from a single source, backed by guarantees that extend beyond those of most manufacturers.
