Salty Pirate Owners need advice

I have been going for several years taking my grandchildren that have had so much fun we would spend from 10am til 5p, when new owners took over,it was later in summer, we all went , the back fence line it where the most shade is, a great spot for infants and the elderly or people that have dealt with skin cancer. New owners put speakers on back fence and turned music up so loud trying to make it for whole park could hear, I went up several times and asked if it could be turned down to late for another seating option for me and they didnt do it, I had to take children home and had a headache from the loud music, this a park for little children they dont need to be at a rock concert they need to hear their parents, parents dont need to raise their voice over music. Also people are coming in and dropping towels over 5 or 6 chairs they never use that needs to be watched by employees we parents and grandparents dont need to see highschool girls in tiny bathing suits we need employees that care about working, one pretty blonde employee in tiny suit posed , never got up when my granddaughter bumped her head I had to leave one child and race over to her, she was crying but fine just a bump. Make changes that are for families with small children that is why we are all there!!!

Water Boggan

Water Boggan is now the Salty Pirate Water slide. It has new owners that have given the place a well needed face lift. New paint new wood rails and an arcade. A snack area with limited but sufficient sacks. The new owners have really made a good effort to bring new life into the old park. Their plans are to continue to upgrade the park until it is pristine which may take another year but for now it is much better than the old park and well worth a visit. Great for the kids and even adults that are tired of he beach. I took my kids there and the loved it. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Watter Boggan

My son took me there for Fathers Day and for this area it was more than what we thought it would be, but way less than advertised. None of the pictures here were from the actual place witch creates a complete distrust and a sense of false advertisement. The daily price was almost OK, but all the prices in the store were irrational for the food and shirts. Honesty would have gone a long way with actual pictures of the actual location. There is no actual wade or float pool. The slides are the only thing advertised properly. I would have liked the place way better if it did not present itself as such a trap. The false advertisement just killed them for repeat business.

Fun place to go for an afternoon

To help Understand our perspective we are transplants from NJ who have lived in Atlantic beach/Morehead City for around 2 years now. Atlantic Beach/the outer banks were not vacation spots we have considered in the past. Water Boggan is a mom and pop type water park. There are some rusted metal and things that need to be replaced but for the most part the park is kept up well. The water is clean and not over chlorinated. The life guards are not macho jerks and pay attention to what is going on. They were very nice to my 2 year old son- showing him the whistle, helping me to teach him to wait until they said go, etc. This park is NOT expensive. $15-20 for 5 or 6 hours of play time is very reasonable. I would suggest that those who disagree rinse out their horse troughs to swim in or spring for a $10 slip n slide. This was a lot of fun and my 2 year old enjoyed the kids area. It would be great if the wading pool was larger as it quickly got jammed full of kids. but really this park is about the slides, not swimming or wading like some other parks. We were lucky enough to show up when a bunch of school buses were leaving so I would suggest showing up after noon-1pm on weekdays to be safe. That seems to be the sweet spot..Finally, we moved from NJ to Atlantic Beach to get away from rude, loud people. Local children and adults here are very rude, they are even more rude while in vacation mode. I have noticed it after two years living here and actually met some tourists from NJ in the grocery store a week ago who also commented on the fact. It is the unfortunate reality of Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach; a lot of the tourists cant afford to go anywhere nice and there level of class and decorum really shines while they are here. Be prepared for pushy kids, line cutting, getting run into, kicked etc. it can be hazardous for toddlers and younger kids. Still a lot of fun if you get lucky to go when it isn't too busy.We did not bring one, but it seemed like they did allow coolers. The snack shop had juice, water, soda, nachos, etc so for healthy snacks you might want to cart them in.
