I've been to Elk River Joann Fabrics several times now. Each time, I am optimistic that it will be different. Unfortunately, it never is, and I will not go back there. Ever. Today when I went in, I specifically went for some felt and some glue sticks. I found the felt and walked up to the counter to have it cut. There were two women behind the counter, one helping a customer, and the other just leaning on the counter. No other customers in sight. I walked up to the woman who was leaning on the counter doing nothing, and reached out with the two rolls of felt to set them on the counter. She very rudely stopped me from setting them down by putting her hand out to block the counter. I looked up at her and she rolled her eyes and said "YOU NEED TO TAKE A NUMBER" very sternly. I had my two young children with me so they, of course, thought it was fun to pull the ticket. Without even looking at it or asking what number it was, she snapped "I guess you're next". (there were no other customers anywhere in sight!) What the?? It was like my mere presence annoyed her, and honestly the other times I have been there were exactly the same. I should clarify though... It's the women at the fabric counter that are ALWAYS rude and treat you like you're an inconvenience. There have always been teenagers working up front, and they have always been very pleasant and very helpful. Even today, the young gal at the register was sweet as could be. If the women in the back were anything like the young adults up front I'd be a more frequent visitor. I think I'll travel the extra ten miles out of my way to a different fabric store though, at least until they retrain their employees on simple customer service skills, or get rid of them!

Cannot find a corporate site to write to so guess this is it. I bought a replacement light bulb for an opp lite that was the wrong size. I brought back to Elk River Joann Fabric to return and the manager told me she could not take it back. I told her I just wanted to exchange it and she said it was their policy to "not take back something back that was opened because they couldn't resell it." Okay, I understand that. I then went to get the replacement I needed and they did not have one. Well, to my surprise, there were three of the same light bulb I was trying to return hanging there, opened, taped or stapled for resale. We told the manager this and she said, "well, someone did not follow our policy" and that was the end of that! Needless to say, I am not happy with Elk River Joann Fabrics!
