El Paso Metals & Supply, Inc. was founded in 1972 by founders Pete and Hilda Borrego. With a combined 10 years of experience prior to starting El Paso Metals, the Borregos saw a need to provide local businesses with a diverse product line and service that had been lacking in El Paso at the time. They started in a 10,000-square-foot location on Yandell Drive in central El Paso, Texas. Three years later, El Paso Metals outgrew its original location and relocated to an 18,000-square-foot building at 7000 Industrial Avenue, where it remains to this day. To meet increased sales and better serve its clients, a 20,000-square-foot warehouse was later added to the industrial location. This additional warehouse was necessary to better accommodate an ever-increasing inventory, to meet local demand, and to maintain a clean inventory by storing the metals indoors.
