Devastating!
When my little 12 year old girl got sick I brought her in and Dr Walton said she needed to come in and get a dental cleaning. He gave her 1 antibiotics shot (instead of 2 weeks of pills like my new vet said needs to happen) sent her home and said bring her back in the morning for the work. When we picked her up late that afternoon she was not able to walk out of there nor was she able to walk for several hours. by morning she was still feeling badly and around 10:30 she had went to the closet to sleep but I found her and thought she was dead. She was laying there had messed herself was still with her jaws clinched head thrown back and just looked dead at first but then I saw she was breathing so I called them and took her to them. They put us in a room for over 5 minutes even after seeing what our baby looked like when we came in then they came and got her and took her. I waited a little bit and know one came and told me anything so I went looking for them and saw them working on her and was told I would have to go back in the other room. I did for about 20 minutes and when I went back I was told Dr Flynn had to leave and I was pretty upset because she left my dying baby with who I was then told she was also a vet. But didn't she just graduate or just start here I'm pretty sure I heard her tell the guy in the lobby she just started a couple of months ago. I stayed back there and they were unable to do anything.
My husband suggested we go to the vet hospital in town and we were told they were not really a hospital they were just vets like themselves and they couldn't do anything other than they were doing. When Dr Flynn came back she told the other vet she could go to lunch and then told me these things always happen during lunch time. she fumble around for a while then tried to used the oxygen machine admitting to not really knowing how to then at 1:20 she died. I found out she had a seizure and with 1 shot could've been saved.

Disappointed

I brought my amazing puppy to this clinic for a couple years. We decided to get him neutered. Absolutely awful idea to have it done through this clinic. When we picked him up he had no anitbiotics, told my fiancé no instructions, didn't even give us a cone. They said call if we need one. Of course we'd need one, dogs licks. Within 2 hours of picking him up, his stitches broke and his wound was open. We took him back to have him restitched. This time they did not even have his skin touching so there's no way it would heal. We spent around $100 at this point. Within a week he looked worse so I took him to a place in Edwardsville where I live and they immediately started to worry and said that since his skin has not been touching for so long, no healing can happen and his skin was becoming necrotic. They thought he may of had to received emergency surgery to evacuate the area. This other clinic gave us pain pills, antibiotics, and another swab for his skin. We spent over $300 fixing this clinics mistakes. They are good for small things like shots, but do NOT take your dog for neutering!!!

I do not reccommend bringing a...

I do not reccommend bringing any of your animals here to see Dr. Ishlam or however it's spelled. Unless you're okay with a dead family member.

On an early Saturday morning, our puppy was not acting right. She had vomitted 8 - 10 times within an hour, very lethargic, and we knew we had to do something. So we called the veterinary clinic and they told us they would be waiting for us to arrive.

Dr. Flinn was extremely helpful and kind, and let our pup vomit to check to see the color, odor present, etc. Well she then said there could be an obstruction, and she wanted to keep our puppy for a few hours to push fluids and prevent vomiting so she wouldn't become dehydrated. EVEN THOUGH SHE THOUGHT THERE WAS AN OBSTRUCTION, SHE DIDN'T TAKE XRAYS OR BLOODWORK. First mistake. A few hours later, we picked our puppy up, but something was still wrong with her attitude.

Dr. Flinn told us she would let the vet on call that night know about our puppy's possible condition and if we needed to bring her back in due to more vomitting, do not hesitate to call. Later that night, early Sunday morning, our puppy woke up, left our bed and went to be alone. We could not coax her out from underneath our bed, and she was wretching a lot. But no vomit. She was extremely lethargic, shaky, and her pupils were shaky and dilated. Something was very, very wrong. We immediately called the vet on call at Walton and Haarrmann, told her all our puppy's symptoms. All Dr. Islham(sp?) could say was, "interesting, hmm...i see." And she was very quiet for long periods of time, without any talking from myself. You could tell she was very irritated that we had woke her up at 4am. SHE TOLD US TO WAIT IT OUT and SHE would call us back LATER IN THE DAY.

There was no way we could wait. We acted immediately, brought our puppy to Animal Emergency Clinic in Champaign and they rushed her in, did a few xrays and found air buildup in her intestines and a blockage. They had to perform surgery, and the vet told us that if we would have waited another hour, more air would of built up inside of our puppy and killed her.

Dr. Islham called us back an hour after we had left the Emergency Clinic....four and a half hours later from the original call. She could not believe thats what was wrong with our puppy, and could sense that we were very angry and upset with her.

We will never take any of our animals back here again, and neither will any of my family members. It's sad though, because I used to be an great supporter of this vet clinic and all my animals went here. Not anymore. I think Walton & Haarmann need an employee refresher.

If you are looking for an incredible vet and great, helpful employee's I would reccommend Clyde's Veterinary Clinic in Mattoon, Illinois. They won't mess around, and they care about your animals if they were their own.
