I bought 2 mastercraft doors at menards. One of then had a defect and I sent a claim in September. Finally I got resolution for my issue. Unfortunately I had to keep sending emails and send another complain to Menards customer service, but finally Midwest Manufacturing reached out and resolved the issue. I understand this takes long to get resolved but as a customer we need to stay on top of the complains.
However, I was very pleased the way my issues were resolved. I know there are people in this review with different issues, but my door defect issue was addressed. My only suggestion would be to try to answer the complains a little quicker.
I will lastly say thank you to Louise Fox for reaching out.

They expect me to take my fence down (in a bad neighborhood) and take it back to the store to exchange for the same crap panel's. I don't have a truck and will have to pay someone to help again. The fence started looking like crap in 6 months, curving/twisting/curling, embarrassing looking that next season, and this season I don't feel safe cause boards are literally popping off the rails (yes that's only the 2 year mark). GS of Menards Marti Swenstad gave me 90 days to bring it into Menards, but he sent a letter to Midwest Manufacturing, so I waited on their response. I pretty much got called stupid by M.M. GR Louise Fox, because it's wood, and that's how wood is, well no crap, but no, this is not normal. Now there's only two weeks to decide, and why? Because they sell people inferior products!

I've installed 9 mastercraft oak 6 panel prehung veneer doors in my home. I had no problem with the quality. They sanded (220 grit) and stained (minwax) with no problems. The polyurethane (three coats) made the doors look fabulous. Oh, this is the first time I ever installed doors. Watch a few youtube videos before you try.
I normally don't post, but I noticed that people who do had bad experiences. Most of the time it's "user error."

Read your warranty. The DO NOT cover labor charges for replacing the window, however the are very gratious and send you free replacements. Do not bother calling the costomer relations department here, they must have a lot of problems because every communication with them must ne in writing.

My wife and I bought 16 doors from Menards (Midwest Manufacturing). Each and every door looked as though it was thrown off the truck. Dents, 1 inch deep scratches and areas where the veneer was clearly peeling away. My painter did all he could to make them presentable but overall they look terrible next to the doors I tore out and replaced. I really thought I had a legitimate claim. Midwest Manufacturing responded in writing in their "timely manner" (3 months) and claimed that my painter did not properly prepare the doors before painting and they were not responsible for said claim. 3 thousand dollars (doors + labor and paint) down the drain. Please please please do yourself a favor and DO NOT make the same mistake I did. Stay away from Menards and if you must go in..do not buy anything that has Midwest Manufacturing's name on it. Louise Fox from Eau Claire Wisconsin (Midwest Manufacturing guest relations) has signed her name to every denied claim I've presented so I have no choice but to hold her personally responsible. If I ever walk into another Menards again it will be to inform the customers what mess they are getting themselves into. Thank you for reading my honest review.

Timothy T. on 01/06/2015 was right. Midwest Manufacturing is a flagship company of Menards along with a few others in order to try and keep all their sales inhouse. Has anyone noticed their rebates are not money back, but in the form of a rebate check to spend at Menards. Once they get your money they keep it. Don't feel bad for feeling you were treated like dirt. The employees are treated worse. For instance to get a raise you have to take a 20 question test. Usually on a dept. you don't work in to try and set you up for failure and all for ten cents. Google John Menard and check it out.

We purchased 2 interior doors from them, through Menards. We have had these doors for roughly 3 months, and 1 of them has a crack in it. After being told by Menards service rep to call Midwest, no # provided, I found I needed to fill out a form & send it, plus pictures of the problem, to Menards, who would then forward it to Midwest. They would review it, and inform me of their decision in writing. Still waiting...

purchased a quartz countertop w/ undercounter sink. After installation,[ and checking plumbing] countertop was tiled in. A day later a leak developed in the over flow section of the sink. this appears to be a small crack in the sink casting. there was no information on the box to indicate who to call. Jason at menards was good enough to give me manufacture and phone #. No help from manufacture unless you want to go through weeks possibly months of paperwork and expense. My advice don"t buy midwest manfacturing products if you can avoid it. The countertop had no manufacture I.D on it. I now know why!

I purchased a factory finished exterior door unit with one sidelite to replace my existing front door. After we removed the protective film from the door we noticed that the door was a different color than the sidelite color. The door and sidelite were both white. I filled out the form I got from our Menards store and sent in to their guest service division. I sent pictures with the form. The information was forwarded to Midwest Mfg. We received a letter from Louise Fox that we would not be compensated for the color difference because she stated that they only have one white color and the problem was due to a lighting variation in our house. I sent a letter back to her and requested that a representative visit our house to view the door. I am waiting to see what happens.

We purchased a door which from Menards, shipping took an absurd amount of time to arrive to the store. Once arrived, the door looked great, we installed it in our customers home and a couple days later realized there was a seal failure. We contacted Menards, they stated there was nothing they would do, and we would have to contact guest services. We filled out the proper paperwork and got a response from Marti Swenstad who forwarded our complaint to Midwest Manufacturing. Their response came a couple days later and it was their position to cover only window versus the defect and the labor. We responded that whereas we did not agree with their decision, we would accept it so as to get our customer taken care of as quickly as possible. I called today to check the status and did immediately get to speak with someone who knew what was going on. We will think twice before purchasing materials from them in the future. However we do appreciate at least getting a quick response and being able to reach someone.

I purchased a door/side lite/ and overhead transom valued at $4500 including labor from the Defiance Ohio Store. When after installing the door we found that there were defects around the side lites. We filed the necessary forms and sent them in. They Midwest Manufacturing, responded back on a (July 15, letter date) stating that they would replace the side lites, not the door, which was okay., but they would not cover the cost of installation. I paid to have the old door taken out and new one put in. My complaint is that this is a defective side lite and frame and I should not have to pay again to have the defective side lite taken out and put back in. I will have to disassemble the transom and frame again to put back. We contacted the store mgr at the Defiance Ohio location, and he stated that there was nothing he could do for us. Seems like if we buy a product from them and its defective they should cover all costs associated with it. I sent certified mail return receipt (sent August 7, 2014 to their corporate office in Eau Claire Wi, Defiance Ohio and Midwest Manufacturing (Menards subsidiary) requesting they pay for the door labor and frame gave them until August 15, to respond. NO response from either location. I stated in letter I would accept the door frame/side lites and they should pay for labor. As of this date no response from any one. Labor to install frame and side lites is $900. Received letter from Guest services (Marti Swenstad) forwarding to their subsidiary Midwest Manufacturing my complaint about the defect.

We bought a Master craft door and are very displeased with the quality of the door. All of the primer that was applied by the company, and the door is peeling off down to bare metal and this door to the front of our house. It looks terrible. I have never purchased such a poor quality product. You can clearly see that the primer that was applied by Master Craft is coming off down to the bare metal. They do not back up there products. They stated that it was are fult that the paint was peeling down to the primer, even though they applied the primer

I have used many products from Midwest Manufacturing in the past. I have always been happy with the products, service and price. I have Mastercraft doors in my house. I get many compliments on them. The concrete block grill I have on my patio is the centerpiece to my backyard. I used Midwest Manufacturing products in the past and will continue to use them. I have recommended them on more than one occasion.

This company manufactures door...

This company manufactures doors for Mendards. The quality is poor, but the customer service is even worse. First off, trying to contact them is impossible. The automated email form on their website never gets returned and they do NOT list a phone number on their website. After a yellow pages search, I found a number for them and got the main business office. They then transferred me to another department, which by the conduct of the woman on the line, was NOT a trained customer service department. No "sorry you're having problems sir", instead she listened to my simple issue (weather stripping constantly coming loose) and then said that I would have to fill out a Product Complaint form at the place I bought it (Menards). She said nothing about what would happen after that, or what process would be taken to address my issue. Obviously I asked the question "What happens next?" and the reply was that they would review it... Again I was forced to ask, "Then what?" and the final answer was that MAYBE they would send out replacement weatherstripping! I told her the doow was 6 weeks old and she then said "Well change that to PROBABLY"... Regretting buying this door from Menards and this company BIG TIME. Now I wonder what other problems I am going to have down the road... Good news is that I am posting this review to facebook also, so at least others can see what lame company this place is and maybe learn from my mistake.
