I was experiencing issues with intermittent loss of water from the well. I called Goss Specialist to come out and diagnosis the problem. They arrived on time as promised. Within minutes they were able to diagnosis that the problem was not with the pump, but was actually with the pressure tank switch. The switch had become clogged with debris and iron sediment from the water. Within 15 minutes of diagnosising the problem, the switch was repaired and they were writing out the invoice. . The invoice was for $193.00. The invoice wasn't itemized , so just out of curiosity, I asked the price of the switch. The switch was $35.00, which means the service charge was $158.00, for being there less than 30 minutes. I'm all about someone making a decent living, but $158.00 for less than 30 mins work, seems just a little high to me. I mean I'm used to paying plumbers $60 /hour and the A/C repairman $90/hr service charge, but $158.00 for about 25-30 mins work seems a little greedy. I paid, but I won't be using them again. Next time, I 'll just call a regular plumber. I would advise you to get an estimate, before you have any work done, so that you wont be as surprised, as I was when you receive the invoice.
