I have been a customer of Aspen Wall Wood for over 9 years. It is a relatively no frills style of business that provides useful materials to local homeowners. I buy both firewood (annually to supplement my firewood) and aspen wall board paneling from them. In their yard, front loaders dump milled 18" long aspen slab boards into a pile. Firewood collection is self-serve and customers must load and secure the firewood in their own vehicle themselves. Or, one can purchase a front end load of the wood, but if you can load it yourself you can hand pick it and fit more in your vehicle. This wood is green straight from their on-site milling operation when they dump it, so allow time for it to cure (several months) before burning, however it's worth it's 18" length fits perfectly in many standard size woodstoves. In 2016, I also purchased aspen wall board to cover my ceiling in my house with great results. I installed it myself with the help of a local carpenter. I recommend informing the staff what you are using the wall board for and how visible it will be. That might help with the resultant quality boards you get. There is a warning on the company's price sheet about percentage of imperfect, warped and blemished boards to allow for when estimating amounts for a project. My contractor purchased the boards (which might have made a difference in the quality of boards I purchased by communicating the use of the wood (??) ) and we did not discard much of it at all. Also, my experience with the staff there has been fine-- also no frills, but pleasant. So, from the looks of the previous review, one's experience can go either way. Personally, I recommend this place, but suggest one checks it out thoroughly before purchasing any materials. Good luck!

We purchased aspen siding from this company for our new house. In the original order we received 80+ boards of which only 5-6 were unusable. We needed some more boards so we purchased 50 more recently. When we got home, 16 of the boards were firewood quality, in other words, completely unusable. We tried to return the boards and get new ones. The employees at the company argued with us, told us this was what rustic grade was, and were totally rude. They even asked if we had ever read a "grade" book! Not only did we not get new boards, we wasted our time and money driving all the way there twice and 1/3rd of our order we have to throw out. Now we do not even have enough to finish the job, but we will no longer do business here. This company should be informing the customers that rustic grade means your boards will not be straight and you should plan accordingly to have a lot of waste. The customer service is horrible.
