Look all you have to do is know your stuff before you go in.. do your homework and if your to lazy to look up prices and do some research before you buy then you should be alright.. are they a little rude ? Yah sometimes but you would be too if you had to deal with the finest members of society all day.. you can wheel and deal with them over there prices. I've been buying stuff from them for years and yes I bought a few bad items before, but they always took care of it.. and remember if you don't like what they offer you for your item, then just leave. You don't have to except there offer.. it's a pawn shop in dhs. .

If you want to save some money buy it new it will be cheaper than these guys, or go up the street they won't knowingly burn you. That's a reason why they always have the same items when you go in there.

Typical pawn shop swindler!! Hold on to your wallets and be informed on current prices if you are going to purchase. If you get a quote on a price make sure you get it in writing because when you go back he will lie and say he never told you that price!! You have been warned

This place is a joke. The men working there are extremely rude and low ball your items big time. I have been there a few times and each time I have witnessed their rude behavior. I would NOT recommend this pawn shop, over priced and crumby attitudes.

I have done business with DHS ...

I have done business with DHS Jewelry & Loan in Desert Hot Springs for over 10 years and counting. They have always loaned me way more money then any other pawnshop in all of Southern California! Most other pawnshops loan you on average 10% of what your item was new, they loan 30% to 50% depending on how new your item is. They dont gouge you either when you want to buy something. Still it is a pawnshop and if you dont pay attention to your due date you do have the chance of losing your stuff but if you are up front with the staff they will do everything in there power to make sure you dont lose your item! I know this for sure because the manager held my mom's ring for me for 2 extra weeks free of charge when i was having a bad time with money. So really its your own fault if you lose some there but people love to blame others for there own problems.

I've been a DHS Jewelry & Loan...

I've been a DHS Jewelry & Loan customer for ten years and have seen different management come, go & return, but the same staff have always been there and treated me fairly. This jewelry & loan pays the MOST $$$ for your items of any pawn shop in the Palm Springs area-check it out for yourself. When I have been late, they have held my item till I paid. On only one occasion when the shop was in transitional management did I ever lose an item. The item was replaced as a result with an item of similar value, and any item I left in their care was returned as it was delivered. On occasion that I purchased an item on time, they were very patient & accommodating. As for their prices, they're not outragious, but they are not a thrift store or swap meet either-they're in the business to make a profit, but I personally have never been price gouged there either. I've never seen dishonesty in their treatment, & I've never seen their windows broken except by storm damage, or possibly by a disgruntled customer who was rude to them because their item was forefeited as per their loan agreement. Bottom line is, treat someone bad & they won't bend over backwards to help when you forgot your due date and are late. That is my experience with them..
