Iowa State Education Association undertakes membership programs that promote, support and provide education to students studying at Iowa public schools. Its professional development program provides a variety of learning opportunities and support to help educators deal with current issues and concerns. The association provides rights protection services by attorneys who are experts in school law and employment-related issues. The association monitors the Department of Education and other agencies that establish rules and regulations to ensure that highest professional standards are maintained. The ISEA also works closely with the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Its members are also entitled to a $1 million liability insurance policy to protect them against job-related legal action. The association is located in Des Moines, Iowa
