An authentic Cantonese Chinese restaurant in Des Moines that serves "dim sum" (appetizer style dishes to share with your fellow diners) on Sundays (10 AM to 2 PM): I do not need to go to a big metropolis like Chicago, New York or San Francisco in order to enjoy such a specialty. Variety is not as big as in a big city restaurant and the dishes have to be ordered from a menu instead of been picked from a rolling cart, but dishes come from the kitchen prepared to order, hot and without an unreasonable long wait. The service is very friendly and the owner/cook usually greets and talks to you before you leave. Requests as answering questions about ingredients in the dishes, modifying the ingredients of some of the dishes, or preparing dishes that are not in the regular menu are happily accommodated, if possible. For those who want to have a culinary adventure on a lazy Sunday, I will recommend them to give "dim sum" at Kwong Tung Restaurant a try.
