I started coming to College of Healing Arts to receive student massages and I am now getting professional massages. The rate in April will be $55 per hour which is a value in Des Moines. I do know that a massage gives the client time to dress and time for the massage therapist to clean the room for the next client - this is true anywhere you go. I have used several of the therapists and have felt I have had a good massage each time. I am careful to explain where I need work done and sometimes we spend more time in one area and skip another so I can work on a specific problem. I have had excellent service over the years and appreciate Deb and her staff!

I have fibromyalgia, and am a breast cancer survivor. Some days I wake up in a lot of pain, but continue with my daily routine. Today, I woke up, and with advice from a sibling, looked up this College of Massage. I expected very little but figured any type of massage would ease some of the pain..and that would "do"...I called and left a message and received a call back - right away - from Deb, the owner who wanted very badly to help me out. She called in one of her professionals and got me right in, extremely eager to work around my time schedule and help ease the pain. I was kindly greeted...very personable to my needs, and the massage was fantastic!!! It was so much more than I had expected! The staff was friendly, caring, warm, and they personalized the massage leaning towards what my body and mind needed! I feel this business is worth going back to...and I will. The price is reasonable, also, making it a little easier on the budget. Highly recommended!

I first went to the College of Massage several years ago, attracted by the reasonable prices ($35 for massage by student; $45 for massage by professional). I've stayed all these years because of the quality of massage I've experienced at the College, the kind and welcoming owner and staff, and the family-like atmosphere among staff and customers. I've found the quality of massages by both students and professionals to be very high. The operation of the College is first rate--very organized, on time, and efficient. They leave voice mails to remind you of your massage and are seriously interested in your feedback and satisfaction. I have recommended the College to numerous friends and family and have received uniform good reports. I wish there were more business in my life like the College of Massage. - Chuck Montgomery

Deb Elliott (owner) was very accommodating in helping to make our appointments. And gave excellent directions to the center. However, Linda (who is a teacher) gave a very ho-hum massage, leaving me feeling somewhat relaxed but NOT unstressed. I still had tension knots in my neck & shoulders. And my "hour" massage was shorted 15 to 20 minutes!!! She seemed totally surprised when she left to see me still sitting in the waiting room. (I was waiting for my friend, who was also shorted a few minutes, but definitely got closer to the time paid for than I did.) I did leave a tip (which still upsets me) since I need to book another massage soon. I know that an hour massage is really only 50 minutes, so there is 5 min to undress & 5 to dress. I did this VERY quickly. I was taken to the room at 10 after and at 10 til, she announced to me "your massage is done". I was then given a tiny dixie cup of water to help flush the toxins from my body.
